Job description
Trace Systems is recruiting for a Network Engineer I to join our team supporting the DISA-provided JRSS capabilities and services in a 24 x 7 Global Network Support Center.
- Responsible for overall network engineering support for customer programs including planning, designing, and evaluating various components of the DISA Enterprise Network.
- Solve routine technical problems following established procedures and policies
- Work directly with Engineering team to provide specifications for network architecture, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance current capabilities, and performing needs assessments.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network related issues through monitoring, testing, and servicing network equipment.
Requirements
- Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
- Due to the nature of the work and US Government requirements, US Citizenship is required.
- Must possess a DoD-8570 IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent) at the time of start.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including rotating shifts.
- Demonstrated experience in network monitoring, troubleshooting, and service restoration.
- Expertise in one or more of the following: routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, CISCO, Juniper.
- General understanding of network topologies.
Desired Qualification
- The candidate must be able to multi-task and manage/prioritize workload to include monitoring multiple Network Monitoring Systems, fielding customer calls via unclassified and classified phone systems, maintain situational awareness via classified chat rooms, and utilizing Global TMS to document all steps taken to identify and resolve service affecting incidents.
- This role is expected to perform advanced troubleshooting and network analysis to determine points of impact for outages and maintenance actions not coordinated with DISA, in addition to steps necessary to mitigate service impacting outages, degradations, or demand maintenance actions/control seizures.
- The successful candidate must be customer service oriented and be able to communicate effectively with our mission and government partners to ensure proper assessment of operational/mission impacts and prompt response to priority circuits., * High school diploma.
Benefits & conditions
The anticipated annualized compensation range for this role is $70,000 to $85,000, based on a full-time schedule. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
