Java , Graph QL expert

Akkodis is seeking a Java, Graph QL expert for a Contract job with a client in Mclean VA . Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the financial services industry ., We are looking for a hands-on Senior Backend Java Engineer - this is an active coding role, not a tech lead or architect position. The candidate will be working on migrating existing REST-based microservices to consume GraphQL endpoints on our modern CORE platform, collaborating with GraphQL API partners on field mapping, and validating data integrity and response time parity between legacy and new systems.

• Strong communication and analytical skills are essential. This person will work closely with GraphQL API partner teams to analyze legacy service fields, determine GraphQL equivalents, and drive the migration. Clear communication and attention to detail are critical., Java - 8+ years of hands-on development experience

Spring Boot - strong experience refactoring and migrating existing microservices

GraphQL - experience consuming GraphQL APIs in Java/Spring Boot (field mapping, query construction, response handling).

AWS Fargate/ECS - hands-on operational experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting containerized services on Fargate

Microservices - solid understanding of REST-based microservices architecture

Performance testing/validation - experience benchmarking and comparing response times and data integrity between legacy and modern systems is a strong plus
