As a Data Engineer, you will collaboratively with teams to design, maintain, and implement the complex data integration services for FTB's enterprise data stores. Apply your comprehensive understanding of the tools and techniques involved in data analysis and data integration such as data warehousing, data consolidation. You will be responsible to provide complex data and ad-hoc query support to business and technical partners throughout the department and build relationships with stakeholders, diverse groups, and team. As a Data Engineer you will be your responsibility to develop expert knowledge of FTB's enterprise systems, data architecture, data sources and data integration best practices. Requirements

The foregoing general qualifications shall be deemed to be a part of the personal characteristics of the minimum qualifications of each class specification and need not be specifically set forth therein., In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate, * Experience reading and understanding relational database Physical Data Model (PDMM)

  • Experience in Azure DevOps and Azure Cloud skill sets
  • Experience writing and working with SQL queries or Unix/Linux scripts
  • Experience with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) tools, methodologies, and processes
  • Knowledge and experience of ETL process and tools such as IBM DataStage, Informatica or Microsoft SSIS
  • Knowledge of Apache Hive or Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS)
  • Knowledge of Big Data or Data streaming tools such as JSON, Python, HQL
  • Experience in PySpark Data Framework
  • Knowledge and experience delivering and supporting data solutions
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve the complex data issues
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving, analytical, planning, collaboration, motivation, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats with technical staff and management
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment while demonstrating initiative, integrity, ownership, and accountability
  • Ability to work effectively by organizing multiple workloads, and determining strategies to complete work on time
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Team Foundation Server (TFS) and SharePoint)
  • Knowledge of Franchise Tax Board's Legacy tax systems and functions
