Our client seeks a Solutions Architect to lead strategy and technical design for an AWS-based analytics ecosystem, guiding the migration of a large on-premises SQL Server data warehouse to cloud-native services. The role will define reference architecture aligned to data fabric and data mesh principles, set enforceable standards, and partner with engineering to deliver performant, governed analytics. Expertise with Amazon Redshift, PostgreSQL, Amazon S3, Apache Iceberg, and BI consumption via Power BI and QuickSight will be essential. The architect will influence roadmaps and ensure alignment across data engineering and analytics stakeholders., * Support the enterprise data architectural strategy for AWS analytics platforms across multiple business domains.
- Define and steward a North Star analytics architecture based on data fabric and data mesh operating models.
- Architect the migration of a complex SQL Server data warehouse to AWS with modernized data models and storage formats.
- Establish and govern architectural standards for Amazon Redshift, PostgreSQL, S3-based analytics, Apache Iceberg table design and lifecycle, and analytical data modeling with clear layer separation.
- Apply AWS best practices for performance optimization, intelligent scaling, workload isolation, and cost-aware design.
- Partner with data engineering teams on ETL/ELT flows, pipeline patterns, and orchestration while remaining hands-on.
- Oversee analytics consumption layers with Power BI and AWS QuickSight to align with upstream data design.
- Lead architecture reviews, solution design sessions, and technical decision forums with engineering and business stakeholders.
- Advise leaders on roadmaps, investments, and long-term platform evolution.
Requirements

- Proven experience architecting AWS analytics with Amazon Redshift, PostgreSQL, Amazon S3, and Apache Iceberg or similar open table formats.
- Record of leading migrations from on-premises SQL Server data warehouses to cloud-native architectures.
- Strong understanding of data fabric and data mesh concepts, including domain ownership, data products, and federated governance.
- Deep familiarity with AWS performance optimization patterns for analytical workloads.
- Solid understanding of modern ETL/ELT pipelines, ingestion patterns, and transformation strategies.
- Experience supporting enterprise BI platforms including Microsoft Power BI and AWS QuickSight.
- Ability to lead through influence, set architectural direction, and translate strategy into enforceable standards.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Experience with AWS Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, Lambda, Step Functions, and CloudWatch (preferred).
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, lineage, and observability platforms (preferred).
- Experience in large, regulated, or highly federated enterprises (preferred).
- Exposure to CI/CD, infrastructure as code with Terraform or CloudFormation, and platform automation (preferred).
- AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect - Professional or Data Analytics - Specialty (preferred).
- Experience designing semantic layers or enterprise analytics frameworks for self-service BI (preferred).
