Job description
We are seeking a senior-level Software Engineer to support the planning, implementation, and integration of a third-party Trade Surveillance platform across the US and EMEA regions. This role will contribute to strategic platform initiatives and tactical enhancements within a global engineering organization, working closely with Compliance, Technology, and vendor partners., * Lead and contribute to complex software engineering initiatives with broad organizational impact
- Design, develop, and integrate enterprise-scale surveillance solutions, including third-party and cloud-hosted platforms
- Translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable software designs
- Support modernization and rationalization of the trade surveillance technology ecosystem
- Collaborate with Compliance stakeholders, vendor engineering teams, and global technology partners (US & UK)
- Ensure all development adheres to enterprise standards, including:
- Third-party risk management
- Information security policies
- Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and delivery processes
- Contribute to vendor management, system integration, and ongoing platform enhancements
- Incorporate global functional, technical, and regulatory requirements into solution design
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings extensive software engineering experience, strong knowledge of capital markets and regulatory environments, and hands-on expertise with Scala, Spark, MongoDB, and advanced SQL., * 5+ years of professional Software Engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education, training, military, consulting, or work experience)
- Strong experience building enterprise-scale financial systems
- Proficiency in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages, including Scala and Python
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, MongoDB, and advanced SQL
- Experience designing and consuming APIs and system integrations
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience working in secure, regulated enterprise environments
- Background in financial services, capital markets, or banking (highly preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant software engineering experience
- Prior experience developing or supporting Trade Surveillance systems
- Knowledge of international regulations (e.g., MAD/MAR) and regulatory-driven technology solutions
- Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-hosted third-party solutions
- Exposure to event-driven architectures, messaging systems, or distributed systems
- Experience with automation and testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience enhancing or integrating vendor-based surveillance or compliance platforms
