Job description
This position will provide day-to-day support for application design, implementation and migration of applications, scripts and both application and data related systems. This position will also be responsible for developing and enforcing development standards and procedures related to application security, data integrity, application traceability, deploy-ability, fault tolerance and disaster recovery. This position works closely with internal staff and external partners, including state and federal agencies to support application development efforts and ensure compliance with established application development standards.
Some responsibilities for this position will look like:

Designing, developing, upgrading, and maintaining complex geo spatial applications, mobile applications and data manipulation code & scripts within the ArcGIS platform, using scripting & .NET technologies.

Identifying data and service gaps in the existing ArcGIS product and builds extensions to the dataset using the ArcGIS API and external databases to meet project and enhancement requirements.

Building & maintaining data synchronization (ETL) processes between multiple database servers, involving ArcGIS data, in support of all internal application development efforts which depend upon ArcGIS data.
Requirements

Five (5) years of information systems experience (specifically in GIS development or coordination); OR
-
An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geography (with a GIS focus), or a related field, AND three (3) years of information systems experience; OR
-
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Geography (with a GIS focus), or a related field, AND one (1) year of information systems experience.
Professional GIS experience includes:
-
Professional experience working with ESRI's ArcGIS Platform, including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.

Proven experience in GIS application development using programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript), Advanced Technical Expertise
-
5+ years of advanced experience with ArcGIS Enterprise administration, including services, security, and enterprise geodatabase (SDE) management using SQL Server or PostgreSQL.

Extensive experience with Python (ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python) for automation and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows.
-
Proficiency in front-end development using ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, React, or Arcade to build custom web applications.
Team and Project Coordination

Experience coordinating complex GIS projects across multiple agencies or departments, including requirements gathering and stakeholder management.

Demonstrated ability to advise technical teams or provide mentorship to junior GIS staff.
Certifications & Industry Knowledge

GISP (GIS Professional) certification or Esri Technical Certifications (e.g., Enterprise Administration or Developer Associate).

Experience with Cloud Infrastructure, * High volume of quality work must be accomplished within tight timeframes with minimal supervision

Requires concentration while working on highly technical information in an open office environment where there are frequent interruptions

Requires managing multiple and competing priorities

May require irregular work hours, including night and/or weekend work
