Job description

In this role, you will:

  • Assist project managers in coordinating and implementing investigation and remediation project field work.
  • Create, edit, and maintain GIS datasets using ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Execute Work Plans and/or Sampling and Analysis Plans and coordinate investigation and remediation activities such as monitoring well installation, remediation oversight, and soil, groundwater, indoor air, soil gas, and stormwater sampling.
  • Collaborate with engineers, geologists, and environmental scientists to ensure accurate GIS data usage and presentation.
  • Work with project teams to support in the preparation of plans, specifications, and technical reports and to create and maintain scientific spreadsheets and databases.

We are currently seeking a full-time Environmental Scientist/GIS Specialist for our Pensacola, Florida office. This is an excellent opportunity to join EnSafe and to get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients across the globe.

This role combines field-based environmental work with GIS support. The balance between field and GIS assignments will vary based on project needs, so the ideal candidate will be comfortable working in both settings and be motivated to contribute to where the work is most active., Minimum Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience working with GIS technology (internships and academic experience count).
  • 0-2 years of environmental industry experience
  • Ability to travel regionally, including overnight travel (fieldwork/travel up to 40%).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to drive to project sites.
  • Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS products and/or QGIS.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • GISP certification or ability and willingness to obtain it.
