Job description
We are seeking a senior Platform & Automation Engineer to lead the initial deployment and automation of Cisco Secure Workload (microsegmentation) in a DoD environment. This is a hands-on implementation role focused on standing up the platform, integrating it into the enterprise, automating agent deployment, and transitioning a stable, documented solution to the operations team.
This is not a day-to-day operations role - it is a build, implement, stabilize, and handoff engagement.
Responsibilities
-Deploy and configure the Cisco Secure Workload platform cluster for initial implementation -Perform platform upgrades and patching during the project lifecycle -Integrate Secure Workload with enterprise logging/SIEM and identity systems -Troubleshoot platform connectivity issues and sensor/agent deployment challenges -Design and develop automation workflows to support scalable sensor deployment -Support security controls across on-prem and cloud environments -Produce documentation and transition-to-sustainment materials for the operations team
Requirements
Active TS/SCI clearance -DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ or equivalent) -One of the following experience levels: 12+ years with HS diploma 10+ years with AS/AA 8+ years with BS/BA 6+ years with MS/MA -Experience deploying or engineering enterprise security or infrastructure platforms
Desired Experience
-Hands-on experience with Cisco Secure Workload / Cisco Tetration -Experience with microsegmentation technologies -Infrastructure or security automation (Ansible, Terraform, scripting, IaC) -SIEM integration (Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar, etc.) -Managing agents or sensors at scale -Securing hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud) -Familiarity with enterprise security frameworks and documentation standards

Hourly rate: ~$60-$80/hour while on contract, based on experience and education Conversion: Competitive annual salary upon full-time conversion
