The Senior Systems Engineer, Datacenter Cloud Operations [M365, Collaboration & Web Services] is a hands-on position for a subject matter expert in modern enterprise collaboration and web services technology platforms; responsible for the vision, design, establishment of standards, driving future design strategy, solution development, overseeing implementations, configuration management, operations, and maintenance. This role is also responsible for performing and driving day-to-day technical and administrative activities, and maintaining optimal operational efficiency of the enterprise modern collaboration web services in a hybrid cloud infrastructure landscape.
The Senior Systems Engineer, Datacenter Cloud Operations will interact and collaborate closely with application workstreams, information ,security and other technical infrastructure teams, providing deep and broad technical expertise focusing on Modern Enterprise Collaboration and Web Services to guide project planning, prioritization, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex business challenges and issues. This role will also help identify, define, and propose future strategies; establish and document standards, processes, and operational procedures; as well as automation of those processes and procedures that foster continuous advancement of the overall hybrid-cloud infrastructure global landscape.
The role is also responsible for managing day-to-day operational aspect related to Modern Enterprise Collaboration and Web Services; proactively monitoring and administering the global hybrid-cloud and enterprise collaboration and web services technology stack. This may also include designing, planning, installation, configuration, patching, change management review, upgrading, systems refresh, and system data protection. This role will perform these following duties as well as guide daily activities of contractors and managed service provider resources performing support duties for the respective functional area, which may include responding to 24x7 system monitoring and alerting, analyzing system logs for errors and developing solutions; executing approved system change activities; applying upgrades of Operating Systems; planning/perform security vulnerability patching; and resolving customers request submitted via support tickets., Architecture Standards and Strategy: Serve as the subject matter expert/lead technical resource for current and future modern enterprise collaboration, web services, hybrid cloud, and distributed infrastructure to support multiple, parallel projects and global IT initiatives, while maintaining reliability, performance, and ensuring best practices are implemented to shore up business capability related to enterprise collaboration and web services platforms.
Collaborate with application analysts, solution architects, and IT system owners to provide oversight and consultation during technical design, build, test, and operational phases, including active issue management and resolution of global enterprise collaboration and web services infrastructure landscape.
Peer review of technical solution designs to ensure consistency with Global IT Standards and strategic alignments.
Research trends in technologies; determines and proposes trends and technologies applicable to optimizing and advancing IT and business capabilities.
Engineering and Operations: In conjunction with global IT Infrastructure team, evaluate, engineer, plan, install, configure, deploy, and administer solutions related to enterprise communication, collaboration, web services, and hybrid-cloud infrastructure technology components; including maintaining N-1 platforms or system upgrades and patching, system refreshes and/or enhancements across existing and future enterprise landscape as required from lower environments (Sandbox, Dev, Test, QA, Pre-Prod) to production and disaster recovery environment.
In conjunction with managed services provider, perform/supervise/delegate day-to-day administration and operations activities (e.g., monitoring and troubleshooting of the enterprise collaboration, web services, and hybrid infrastructure systems; responding to system problems; systems tuning and capacity management; etc.) utilizing enterprise-standard processes and procedures and leveraging industry best practices. Work directly with internal global IT groups and vendor resources to achieve project goals and provide ongoing support of the system.
Participate in design sessions of technical infrastructure & cloud processes; integrate solutions into existing infrastructure; conduct continuous improvement of standards, processes, & procedure across the functional area of responsibility.
Review, validate, develop technical designs, prototypes, process designs, testing, training, and definitions of support procedures for systems deployment in Cloud/On-Prem infrastructure(s).
Participate in troubleshooting, incident response, change control, testing, and validation of infrastructure changes or problems related to communication, collaboration, and web services across the hybrid-cloud infrastructure and distributed environment.
Participate in off-hours support on-call rotation.
Provide regular communication to IT management and leadership teams on internal team initiatives, Infrastructure-related projects, and other work assignments.
Develop and maintain appropriate documentation for architecture, design, implementation, standard operating procedures, and testing activities.
Prepare formal project documentation, including specifications, requirements summaries, logical system design documents, state diagrams, and test scripts.
Stakeholder and Vendor Management: Build, develop, and grow business relationships with users, within Global IT Infrastructure/Application/Security, and with partner and vendors. This includes working with internal and external infrastructure teams to provide support for both current and future enterprise collaboration and web services platforms.
Requirements
Enterprise IT industry experience encompassing a wide range of skill sets, roles and industry verticals, including a large-scale global IT operation, design, implementation, migrations, transformations, deployment rollout, including broad experience with driving IT platform architecture/design/administration, service management, and IT governance/control processes
Progressive experience working with 3 or more of the following functional technology areas:

Education/Certifications:
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred; or a combination of equivalent education and relevant experience
Certification in Enterprise Collaboration & Web Services Platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, O365 SharePoint/Exchange/Teams, Power BI, Power Apps, AWS, Google Cloud Platform)

ITIL Certification and experience preferred
