Job description
We obsess over Prime Video Sports customers having a flawless experience. Sports happen in real time, and any time missed due to an issue during an event can never be given back. We seek to deliver the high quality experience our customers demand from the time any customer opens Prime Video until the end of each customer's live event playback experience. We seek to create insights, tooling, and mechanisms to close existing gaps, identify new gaps as they appear, and remediate as quickly as possible., You will be building tools and services that work horizontally across Prime Video Sports to ensure high customer availability. This will include identification of gaps and the tools to plug those gaps, including full-stack software design and development. You will collaborate with other engineers and managers to design services which meet key business needs and scale to the size of Prime Video data. You will prioritize data-driven decision making, taking initiative to collect data and derive insights supporting engineering design decisions.
Requirements
We are looking for smart, motivated Software Development Engineer who can help in building our platform for delivering live video events to our customer. If you have experience building large-scale, high-performance, customer-centric products and are interested in designing multi-tier services to handle large datasets, complex domains, and problems at Amazon scale, this is the job for you.
Our innovative systems include high efficient and large scale platforms built on Amazon's AWS cloud computing infrastructure. For this position you will have a strong background in OO design with Java/C++. Experience working with web services, XML, JSON, and GraphQL is desired. Linux system development experience is a plus. Equally important to these specific skills is the ability to multi-task, quickly adapt to new development environments and changing business requirements, learn new systems, create reliable/maintainable code, and find creative and scalable solutions to difficult problems.

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
