Job description
As an ML Infrastructure / AWS Cloud Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and services to support advanced AI/ML applications, including vector database services and large language model (LLM) deployments. You will collaborate with government enterprise cloud teams to ensure compliance with performance, scalability, and security requirements. - Design, configure, and manage AWS services such as EKS, ASGs, NLB, EC2, S3, and EFS.
- Implement and maintain vector database services and LLM services using open-source models, including Llama.
- Deploy and manage Llama-based large language models on AWS infrastructure.
- Optimize and scale vector database solutions for high-performance applications such as semantic search and real-time AI analytics.
- Collaborate with government enterprise cloud teams to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and scalability of AI/ML services.
- Optimize AWS resource utilization and costs for AI/ML workloads, including GPU-based EC2 instances.
- Design and implement AWS security best practices, including identity and access management controls.
- Support cloud Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements, including security control assessments and documentation.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Configure monitoring solutions with AWS CloudTrail, CloudWatch, and other compliance tooling.
- Work with development teams to integrate Llama and vector database solutions into cloud workflows.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, configurations, and processes.
Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum of five (5+) years in AWS infrastructure engineering, preferably in government environments such as AWS GovCloud.

Strong experience with the DoD ATO Process.

Proven experience working directly with federal end customers.

Strong Linux administration skills, expertise in Kubernetes (specifically EKS), and proficiency in AWS services like EC2 (including GPU nodes and clusters), S3, EBS, and CloudWatch are essential.

Experience with vector database solutions and LLM deployments, including Llama, as well as designing and maintaining hybrid and cloud network architectures.

Experience working with agentic frameworks and tools (LLMs, Agents, RAG, MCP, etc.) UiPath technical leadership / SA experience (RPA, DU, and other products)

Familiarity with continuous monitoring and compliance tools, along with AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, is highly desirable.

Candidates must be physically located within the DC Metropolitan area with the ability to be onsite 2-3 days a week.

- The salary range of this position is $155,000 - $185,000 annually commensurate with experience and achievement.
