Job description

accepting applications for a schoolwide Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Specialist position. The MTSS Specialist will support the attendance and orientation departments in contact students, parents, and teachers virtually, and in person. This position will work closely with the school social workers, counselors, and instruction to assist student and family needs in attendance and orientation., Esperanza Cyber Charter School (ECCS) prepares students in grades three through twelve to meet the challenges of living creatively and productively in an increasingly technologically sophisticated and interconnected world. ECCS will provide students with an academically rigorous, yet flexible, online learning program that tailors learning experiences to each child through a combination of curriculum choices and virtual and in-person tutoring and counseling. Students will explore career directions that coincide with their interests and strengths beginning at the earliest ages, and will begin "majors" in particular career areas starting with the middle grades. ECCS is targeted toward underserved and at-risk students who have not always found success in traditional schools. ECCS places students on a pathway to post-secondary success., Attendance Support

  • Help to maintain regular school attendance and override late students in the Student Information System
  • Maintains and tracks records of tardiness and absences
  • Makes and receives telephone calls, takes messages, and routes calls
  • Responds to inquiries from students, teachers, and parents regarding attendance rules and absences
  • Compiles and submits a variety of daily, weekly, monthly, and year-end reports as
  • required
  • Maintains records of student absence due to appointments
  • Creates, prepares, distributes, and files records, reports, and correspondence related to attendance and truancy

Orientation Support

  • Monitor student progress through the virtual orientation course, communicating with students, families, and staff regarding student progress.
  • Serving as a point of contact and coach for the first thirty (30) days of a student's enrollment
  • Call to schedule students for orientation.
  • Confirm that all new users are created in the necessary systems and have devices prepared prior to the orientation date
  • Follow up with struggling or disengaged students and their families to help identify barriers and re-engage students in the learning process
  • Refer students to receive additional support for the MTSS team
  • Manage the process of acquiring student pictures for IDs and SIS profiles

Requirements

  • Spanish fluency is required
  • Applicants must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Associate's degree required
  • School experience and PowerSchool SIS experience is a plus, * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to assist in meticulously tracking and collecting data as identified for the program
