Job description
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced BI professional to play a key role in a major data transformation programme, helping modernise the organisation's reporting, analytics, and business process capabilities across multiple business units.
You'll work across the full data lifecycle - partnering with stakeholders, building scalable data models, developing modern reporting solutions, and driving process digitisation using the Microsoft Power Platform.
The business is currently evolving from a legacy SQL Server/SSAS environment to a modern Microsoft Fabric-based platform, offering excellent exposure to cutting-edge Microsoft data technologies. The RoleDelivering Insight & Analytics
- Work closely with stakeholders across multiple departments to understand reporting and operational challenges
- Design and develop high-quality Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
- Build scalable and reusable semantic data models using best practice methodologies
- Develop structured datasets that provide consistent and reliable business insights
Modern Data Platform Development
- Support the transition toward Microsoft Fabric, including Direct Lake datasets, OneLake, and dataflows
- Help design and maintain scalable and governed data architecture
- Develop and optimise ETL/data transformation pipelines
- Promote best practices around performance, usability, and data modelling
Power Platform & Process Automation
- Design and develop Power Apps (Canvas Apps) to digitise manual and spreadsheet-driven processes
- Build solutions that allow users to capture, update, and action data in real time
- Develop Power Automate workflows to streamline approvals and operational processes
- Work directly with business users to improve adoption and usability
- Reduce reliance on spreadsheets while improving process efficiency and data integrity
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Partner with teams across finance, operations, manufacturing, supply chain, and project delivery
- Contribute to governance, security, and development standards
- Support structured development practices using Azure DevOps and Git
- Mentor and support other team members where appropriate
- Identify opportunities for ongoing improvement across reporting, systems, and processes
Requirements
- 3-5+ years' experience in a BI, Data Analytics, or similar role
- Strong Power BI expertise including DAX, semantic modelling, and dashboard development
- Proven experience developing Power Apps (Canvas Apps) and Power Automate solutions
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
- Experience delivering end-to-end data and reporting solutions
- Ability to engage effectively with business stakeholders and translate requirements into technical solutions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Structured and detail-oriented approach
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or modern cloud data platforms
- Experience with tools such as Data Factory, Synapse, or similar
- Exposure to Python or other scripting/data processing tools
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD practices
- Experience working with ERP data, ideally Dynamics 365 F&O
- Understanding of data governance and scalable architecture principles
- Experience working across complex or multi-business environments
