Job description
Reporting to the Abstraction Compliance and Assurance Manager, the Abstraction Licensing Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of abstraction licences across the Anglian Water region. You will lead on compliance monitoring, regulatory reporting, licence applications, and financial oversight, ensuring robust processes are in place and no regulatory commitments are missed., * Lead abstraction licence compliance monitoring, including daily checks and compliance investigations

Ensure accuracy and integrity of all abstraction licence and monitoring datasets

Produce high-quality regulatory submissions, including abstraction returns and self-reporting

Act as technical lead on abstraction licensing matters, advising and supporting internal stakeholders

Manage abstraction licence applications, renewals, variations, transfers, and revocations

Oversee abstraction licence financials, including annual fees, charges, and derogation payments

Support enhanced modelling and analysis for high-risk ("hot") licence reviews

Maintain accurate corporate records of all licence conditions and changes

Work collaboratively with external bodies, including the Environment Agency and technical consultants
-
Support EIR requests and contribute to audit and assurance activities

Mentor and share knowledge within the team to strengthen capability and resilience
Requirements
Do you have experience in Water resources?, This is a business critical role requiring strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the confidence to interpret complex regulations and communicate technical information clearly across the business., * Educated to HNC level or equivalent NVQ

Experience in water resource management or environmental assessment (Desirable)

Strong experience working with large datasets, data analysis, and reporting

Confidence interpreting regulatory, legal, and licence documentation

Experience managing regulatory submissions and compliance processes

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail

Confidence and experience in owning large and complex financial processes and budget oversight

Experience using telemetry systems (Desirable)

Ability to manage your own workload and priorities effectively
