Job description
Insight Global is seeking a Field Support / Desktop Support Technician to serve as the on-site IT presence at a steel manufacturing facility. This individual will support end users with hardware, software, and basic infrastructure issues, partner with remote IT teams and vendors, and take ownership of all site-level IT needs. Responsibilities include troubleshooting desktops and peripherals, supporting AV and conference rooms, installing and maintaining software and security tools, maintaining IT inventory, and assisting nearby satellite sites as needed. Success in this role depends heavily on strong people skills, adaptability, and a service-oriented mindset.
Requirements
- 4-5+ years of Desktop / Technical Support experience

ServiceNow ticketing system experience

Ability to be the primary on-site IT point of contact

Strong troubleshooting of Windows, Microsoft 365, and hardware

Comfortable working in a manufacturing / mill environment, willing to wear PPE (hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety glasses)

Local travel required (within 1-1.5 hours of Jackson, TN)
Comfortable with occasional on-call / weekend support - Manufacturing / plant / industrial IT support experience

Exposure to PLC- or MES-connected systems

Familiarity working around production-critical systems or automated equipment, where IT issues can directly impact operations.
A+ or similar certification
