As a Data Engineer, you will be the architect of our data flow, responsible for designing and implementing scalable ETL processes that power our analytics, reporting, and industry-leading Shipping AI. You will convert raw shipping and supply chain data into reliable, accessible information that optimizes platform performance and drives AI-driven product surfaces.
What you'll do
- Architect Data Pipelines: Build and maintain high-performance pipelines using Airflow, dbt, and Python to organize raw data for analysis, modeling, and product use cases.
- Power Shipping AI: Partner with Product, Data Science, and ML Engineering to build the infrastructure supporting machine learning workloads, including training datasets, feature pipelines, and model output tables.
- Optimize Performance: Write production-grade SQL (Amazon Redshift) and manage query optimization to support rapidly growing business needs.
- Ensure Reliability: Build instrumentation, monitoring, and alerting to guarantee data freshness, quality, and availability in production environments.
- Innovate Processes: Identify and implement improvements by automating manual tasks and reducing pipeline runtimes.

Requirements
- Data Stack: Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience building orchestration workflows (Airflow preferred) and data transformations (dbt).
- Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with cloud-based data warehouses (Amazon Redshift) and data lakes (AWS S3).
- Modern Tooling: Familiarity with DuckDB, pandas, Jupyter, UNIX shell scripting, and Git.
- ML/AI Readiness: A solid understanding of dimensional modeling and comfort-building data infrastructure that supports AI workloads.
- Bonus: Exposure to LLM infrastructure patterns (embeddings, vector stores, RAG).
