This entry-level role is ideal for candidates looking to grow their career in systems administration, networking, cloud technologies, and enterprise support., The Junior Systems Administrator will assist with server maintenance, user account management, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, monitoring systems performance, and supporting cybersecurity best practices. Essential Functions:
- Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and enterprise applications
- Assist with administration of Windows/Linux servers and Active Directory environments
- Create, modify, and manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies
- Monitor system performance, backups, and network availability
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Support Microsoft 365, email systems, VPN access, and remote users
- Assist with patch management, software deployment, and system upgrades
- Maintain documentation for IT procedures, inventory, and configurations
- Collaborate with senior IT staff on infrastructure and security projects
- Follow cybersecurity and data protection policies
Requirements
- 0-2 years of IT support or systems administration experience
- Demonstrated experience with hybrid cloud environments and disaster recovery planning.
- Strong foundational understanding of TCP/IP networking
- Windows Server
- Active Directory
- Networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
- Microsoft 365
- Virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V preferred)
- Basic scripting (Bash/Python)
- Cisco networking fundamentals
- Docker/Podman or similar technologies
- Git/GitLab familiarity
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and troubleshooting methodologies
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Skills & Abilities:
Education : Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
Experience : One to two years related experience
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Advanced knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Python).
