The ideal candidate will bridge engineering and customer application domains, supporting advanced robotics and motion control product design through hands-on system development, hardware bring-up, and customer engagement.
Essential Responsibilities
-
Design, develop, and validate motor control and actuator control systems for robotics and automation applications.
-
Implement and optimize embedded firmware in C/C++ for 32-bit microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M, TI C2000, NXP, ST, etc.).
-
Perform hardware board development, bring-up, and debugging, including interface validation (SPI, CAN, I2C, UART, PWM, ADC).
-
Integrate and tune control algorithms (FOC, position/velocity/torque loops, sensorless control).
-
Support motion control system design for humanoid robots, manipulators, and mobile platforms.
-
Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and mechanical teams for end-to-end system performance optimization.
-
Develop customer-facing application collaterals-including technical notes, reference designs, application examples, and demo documentation.
-
Provide technical support to customers and internal teams for motor control products, evaluation boards, and reference designs.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Requirements
-
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering.
-
5+ years of experience in embedded systems and motion control application development.
-
Proven experience in motor control (BLDC, PMSM, stepper, or DC motors) and actuator drive systems.
-
Hands-on experience in embedded C/C++ development, real-time debugging, and microcontroller toolchains.
-
Solid understanding of control theory, power electronics, and system dynamics.
-
Strong experience in hardware design review, board bring-up, and system testing.
-
Excellent communication and documentation skills for creating technical marketing and application content.
Preferred Skills
-
Experience with robotics motion control systems (humanoids, industrial arms, AGVs, AMRs).
-
Familiarity with motor drivers, encoders, and feedback sensors.
-
Exposure to real-time control environments (RTOS, FreeRTOS, TI-RTOS).
-
Experience with simulation and modeling tools (MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW).
-
Understanding of industrial or automotive communication protocols (CAN, EtherCAT, RS485).
-
