Job description
As an Actuary of the Annuity Model Governance and Stewardship team, you will perform comprehensive reviews of models that support valuation, projections, pricing, financial planning, and strategic initiatives within the Annuity business. Our team ensures the integrity, efficiency, and compliance of actuarial models for annuity products, focusing on robust model validation, governance, and continuous improvement to support accurate financial reporting and effective risk management.
What you'll be doing
- Working with cross-functional team to identify and understand required changes to GGY-AXIS Fixed Indexed Annuity, Fixed Annuity and Payout models
- Develop and execute independent model validation tools to assess accuracy and reliability of the AXIS annuity models including key data inputs, assumptions, and model calculations
- Maintain and enhance the current Excel-based validation framework to ensure consistency and compliance
- Participate in the transition to a Python-based validation platform, contributing to design, development, and implementation to improve scalability, automation, and efficiency
- Document processes, assumptions, and validation results to meet regulatory SOX control and internal audit standards
- Engage with model developers and stakeholders to communicate model review findings and develop appropriate solutions
- Identify and recommend process improvements that significantly reduce workload or enhance quality across the team, This position may be subject to Lincoln's Political Contribution Policy. Requirements
Must have:
- 7+ years of actuarial experience with actuarial credentials (ASA or FSA)
- Experience in actuarial modeling and/or valuation experience in GGY-AXIS
- Experience in reviewing and assessing the appropriateness of complex models
- Advanced proficiency in VBA, Python, or other programming languages (expert level preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Deep knowledge of annuity product and general insurance business knowledge
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of regulatory and accounting frameworks (Stat/GAAP/Tax/RBC)
- History of innovation and process improvement
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under deadlines.

The pay range for this position is $108,501 - $195,900 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
