Job description

As a Linux System Administrator/Engineer, you will work as part of the IT team in our offices in Worblaufen, near Bern, and collaborate directly with colleagues from a variety of Bucher + Suter teams.

You will be responsible for ensuring the stable, secure, and efficient operation of our Linux systems. In this role, you will work closely with project teams and actively contribute your expertise to both ongoing and new initiatives.

Main Tasks

  • Operating and further developing the system infrastructure
  • Ensuring the stability, security, and availability of the server environment
  • Analyzing and resolving issues
  • Supporting projects with your expertise and implementing infrastructure requirements
  • Automation and standardization
  • Documenting system environments, configurations, and operational processes

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, * Solid knowledge of Linux system administration, with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

  • Completed vocational training plus several years of experience in IT operations, or a completed IT vocational training program
  • Excellent German and good English skills

Additionally, we would be pleased if you have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Experience as a Splunk system administrator
  • Operation of Windows servers and clients
  • Knowledge of MS SQL databases
  • Experience with web application firewalls
