Job description
As a Data Scientist I at ProcessOut, you will be instrumental in driving value by maximizing merchant payment performance while minimizing operational cost. You will own the full data science lifecycle, delivering highly-performant, production-ready solutions that handle millions of daily transactions.
What you will be doing
Algorithmic Optimization & Business Impact: Deeply understand merchant business models and KPIs to identify opportunities for technical and algorithmic improvement. This includes leveraging decomposition methods and supervised modeling to understand complex data relationships and create new features that exploit feature interactions.
Production Software Development: Deliver robust, fully-fledged services, not just Proofs of Concept. This requires writing well-documented, clear, and concise code, with consideration for code structure and future adaptation.
Data-Driven Iteration: Use insights from supporting merchants to continually challenge and enhance the tools you build, maximizing their self-serve capabilities and maximizing business and payment knowledge.
Metrics & Strategic Reporting: Define and expose KPIs that accurately measure the team's direction and ensure alignment with business objectives. Communicate work, hypotheses, and strategic impact clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Payments Expertise: Proactively dive into complex payments documentation and technical specifications to find and validate new possibilities for optimization and exploration.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Machine learning?, Software Engineering Knowledge: Have hands-on experience with Software Engineering, including application of data algorithms.
Machine Learning Expertise: Experienced with a wide variety of supervised ML algorithms, including advanced techniques like multi-arm bandits. Experience in creating custom loss functions or evaluation frameworks to better reflect specific business problems is a plus.
Data Engineering Proficiency: Strong practical knowledge of data transformation, including proficiency with a wide variety of data munging techniques (e.g., groupbys, merging tables).
Advanced Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze large datasets to understand complex relationships, identify outliers, and use modeling techniques to derive additional insights.
End-to-End Ownership & Delivery: Proven ability to own subjects across multiple areas of the business, ensuring technical success directly translates into tangible business value and revenue growth.
Complex Project Management: Proven ability to manage and coordinate complex projects, particularly those involving R&D with clear business outcomes.
Communication: Fluent verbal and written communication in English and French, with the ability to tune communication for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bonus points for
Direct experience in the Online Payments industry
Golang knowledge.
