Job description
The Communication and Business Support Officer will provide advice and guidance on communications, policy and business support issues to the Housing Manager and the Association and suggest, implement and evaluate improvements., 1. To be the lead person on developing, evaluating, reviewing and monitoring all policies and procedures, in consultation with colleagues including producing reports for the Housing Manager and making recommendations to and seeking approval from the Board of Management.

To lead on communications for KBHA under the guidance and direction of the Housing Manager.

To work with the Housing Manager as required in the identification and development of new properties and the redevelopment/upgrading of existing stock, including attending Development Sub Committee meetings as required.

To lead on the promotion of engagement and communication with residents including devising innovative and appropriate ways to increase participation. In addition to collect performance information, including Tenant Satisfaction Measures and identify areas that need improvement alongside the Housing Manager.

To be the lead officer on dealing with all housing and business complaints liaising
with the Housing Manager and taking relevant action as required by KBHA policies and as the Housing Manager/Board deem appropriate.

To monitor compliance for KBHA with housing and business legislation and regulatory standards, including making recommendations for appropriate action.

To have a full understanding of and coordinate the smooth running of the services provided by KBHA.

To monitor alongside Housing Officers, the performance of cleaning/gardening contractors.

To attend Board Meetings where necessary as determined by the Housing Manager/Board.

To manage all activities of the Association in the absence of the Housing Manager.

To liaise with Admin Officer and Finance Officer, to approve invoices for payment and monthly payments, in line with annual budgets.

To undertake general office management, including fire alarm testing, emergency lighting testing, health and safety and office cover.

To manage and take part in out of hours telephone monitoring rota.

Any other duties as required which are commensurate with the position of Communications and Business Support Officer.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Presentation skills?, 1. At least two years' experience at a supervisory level or of operating at an experienced practitioner level, including advising and supporting staff, setting standards and encouraging excellent performance.

Experience of finding successful and positive solutions to communication, policy and business support issues.

Experience of developing, implementing, measuring and evaluating policies and procedures and communication plans.

Database experience is essential including the ability to collate and interpret statistical data and using business systems confidently and effectively, as well as a high level of proficiency in Microsoft office, Word and Excel.

The ability to communicate clearly and professionally, including preparing and presenting formal reports to a board of management.

A good understanding of data analysis, monitoring compliance with legislation and regulatory standards.

Qualifications requirements:
Essential
Hold an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, or equivalent or willing to agree to complete an approved qualification within 2 years of appointment.
Desirable
A qualification in data analysis or project management or equivalent.
A valid driving license and use of a car (which would attract a casual car user rate of mileage)
An awareness of the legal and regulatory requirements of a Housing Association and the knowledge of and involvement in the refurbishment and development of new properties.
Benefits & conditions
Salary: In line with NJC for Local Government Services - SCP 24-28
The role is 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday) /pro rata to a standard Kings Barton Housing Association full time working week of 35 hours. There will be a need for flexibility in attendance (hours/times). This will include up to 6 evenings per year to attend Board meetings and, in addition, attendance at sub committees (afternoons/evenings) as required (for which TOIL will be given).
The successful applicant will be subject to a six-month probationary period.
The post holder will have pro rata 5.6 weeks annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
The notice period will be 6 months.
Pay: £25,294.30 per year
