Job description
Lift Recruitment are supporting a major University programme seeking an experienced Network Infrastructure Consultant / Contractor to support the integration, remediation, and operational transition of a large-scale CCTV and network infrastructure estate.
This is a highly technical engagement focused on enterprise networking, secure infrastructure design, operational support readiness, and CCTV / OT network integration within a complex campus environment.
The successful contractor will work closely with Infrastructure, Security, Estates, and Project Delivery teams to assess the existing environment, define future-state architecture, and support the transition into a scalable and supportable operational model.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and document the existing CCTV network infrastructure estate
- Produce detailed network topology diagrams and technical documentation
- Design migration and integration strategies aligned to the wider campus network
- Review current network hardware and identify End of Life (EOL), End of Support (EOS), and operational risks
- Identify resilience, security, and supportability concerns across the estate
- Design secure segregated network architecture for CCTV traffic isolation
- Support onboarding into operational platforms including:
- SolarWinds
- TACACS+
- SNMP monitoring
- Configuration backup solutions
- IPAM
- Review fibre connectivity, structured cabling, and infrastructure readiness
- Support detailed Phase 2 design and remediation activities
- Provide lifecycle management and operational support recommendations
- Support governance, operational handover, and service transition activities
Requirements
Do you have experience in SolarWinds?, * Strong enterprise network engineering and infrastructure experience
- Previous experience integrating CCTV, OT, or security infrastructure into corporate or campus environments
- Strong knowledge of:
- Enterprise networking
- Secure network segmentation
- VLANs
- Firewalls
- QoS
- Network monitoring
- Experience with Aruba networking technologies desirable
- Experience with SolarWinds, SNMP, TACACS+, and IPAM preferred
- Strong technical documentation and governance capability
- Experience identifying technical debt and operational risk
- Comfortable working across both project delivery and operational support environments
