Application Programmer III

We are seeking an Application Programmer III to join our dynamic team supporting Bank of America Reference Data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in hands-on software development using a 3rd-generation language (Scala, Java, or Python) and a proven ability to design and deliver horizontally scalable, high-performance applications while learning new domains with minimal supervision. This role requires 3 days onsite per week and an immediate start., * Design, develop, and optimize scalable, high-performance services and applications.

• Learn business processes and reference data domains to inform technical solutions.
• Collaborate in an Agile environment to gather requirements and perform basic data analysis.
• Build and integrate REST-based web services with robust testing and automation practices.

• 5+ years of heavy, hands-on software development in Scala, Java, or Python.
• Proficiency with REST-based web services.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills with a collaborative approach.
• Ability to learn new technologies and work with minimal direct supervision.
• Experience with test-driven methodologies, unit and regression automation, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience performing basic data analysis and requirements gathering.
• Background working in Agile development environments.

Preferred Skills:

• Functional programming experience.
• Exposure to graph technologies, Semantic Web (RDF), and SPARQL.
• Experience with distributed computing and tools such as Zookeeper, Storm, Spark, HDFS, or Hive.
• Experience with Selenium and Cucumber.
• Experience enhancing and maintaining mission-critical software in a fast-paced environment.
