Job description
As an AVP of Data and Cloud Platform Engineering at UWM, leading Cloud Engineering, Database Administration, and Data Platform Engineering teams, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our data and cloud systems. You will be approaching projects with automation and self-service principles at the forefront to meet client/business needs. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our business and IT processes run smoothly and our internal customers remain satisfied. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Help define policies, procedures, and standards for implementing and maintaining platforms within the organization Push forward the principles of Platform Engineering and Self-service enablement Ensure our data platforms are resilient, performant, highly available, and governed properly Work with internal clients to enhance their experience with our platforms Providing guidance and mentorship to team leaders, architects, and team members Make continuous improvements to our platforms and upgrade their capabilities. Provide regular status reports to stakeholders and leadership on tasks accomplished, current issues, and progress toward goals Leading teams who work day to day with Azure, Google Cloud, MS SQL Server, Redis, and Kafka
Requirements
5-7 years experience leading Enterprise Technology and/or Data platform teams Very strong soft skills and the ability to communicate effectively Run large meetings and present topics during All-Hands meetings Understanding of data technologies and governance Leading teams who operate in public cloud platforms Strong security-first mindset Nice to Have: DBA experience Public Cloud engineering and administration experience SOX/SOC2 experience JIRA and Service Now experience
