Job description

Administers, maintains, and enhances the District's internal intranet platforms to support effective communication, transparency, accessibility, and operational efficiency. The position ensures digital content is accurate, timely, accessible, secure, and aligned with District branding and communication standards, while providing technical and content support to departments and site administrators across West Ada School District.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives general supervision from and direction from the Technology Department in collaboration with occasional general supervision from the Communication Department. Incumbents initially perform assigned duties under general supervision; as experience is gained, incumbents perform the full range of responsibilities with increasing independence. This position does not exercise direct supervision but may provide functional guidance and training to department and school-based content contributors. Primary duties are performed in an office environment., Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Administer, maintain, and update District internal intranet platforms using the District's content management systems (CMS).
  • Create, edit, organize, publish, archive, and remove digital content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and timeliness of information.
  • Ensure all intranet content complies with accessibility standards (ADA, WCAG) and District policies.
  • Monitor intranet performance, functionality, and availability; troubleshoot issues and coordinate resolutions with Technology Services and external vendors as needed.
  • Maintain consistent branding, layout, navigation, and design standards across District digital platforms.
  • Manage user permissions, content workflows, and security settings to protect District information and data integrity.
  • Train and support District staff, school administrators, and designated content editors on CMS usage, publishing standards, accessibility, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Communications, Technology Services, and District departments to publish announcements, documents, resources, and updates.
  • Review site analytics and user trends to recommend improvements for usability, navigation, and content effectiveness.
  • Maintain documentation for procedures, publishing standards, accessibility guidelines, and system configurations.
  • Work with diverse cultural and ethnic groups in a tactful and effective manner; foster an environment of integrity, trust, and respect.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal website-related inquiries, ensuring timely, accurate, and customer-focused support.
  • Be an integral team player, which involves flexibility, cooperation, and communication.
  • Perform other related duties as required., * Review, edit, and organize content to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and clarity.
  • Understand, interpret, and explain District policies, procedures, and publishing standards.
  • Analyze website performance data and recommend improvements.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Provide training and technical support to non-technical users.
  • Manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Maintain confidentiality of District information and records.
  • Operate modern office equipment and appropriate software applications.
  • Maintain regular attendance and adhere to prescribed work schedule to conduct job responsibilities.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Word processing?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Knowledge of:

  • Principles and practices of website and intranet administration - specifically SharePoint.
  • Content management systems, web publishing workflows, and digital content governance.
  • Web accessibility standards and compliance requirements (ADA, WCAG).
  • Website security, user permissions, backups, and data protection practices.
  • Website analytics, performance monitoring, and basic usability concepts.
  • HTML, CSS and other web languages; web content formatting concepts. Principles of branding, user experience (UX), and digital communications.
  • Operation of a personal computer and job-related software applications, including content management systems, word processing, spreadsheets, and analytics tools.
  • English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and content editing standards.
  • Current office practices and procedures.

Ability to:

  • Independently administer intranet platforms.
  • Design a consistent structure across all department intranet platforms.
  • Maintain and publish website content through a CMS, applying working knowledge of HTML and CSS to support branding, layout consistency, and responsive design., * Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in communications, information technology, web development, digital media, or a related field.
  • At least three (3) years of professional experience administering websites or intranet platforms using a content management system. Experience in a public sector, education, or large enterprise environment is preferred.
