Job description

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving our data strategy and standard methodologies for data collection, pipelines, usage, and infrastructure. We are looking for someone with a deep sense of curiosity and an affinity for building innovative products based on data. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate data constellations and tools, leveraging your skills in reverse engineering, analytics, and creative problem-solving to devise data and BI solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Work with large volumes of traffic data and user behaviors to develop pipelines that enhance raw data quality.

  • Break down complex data problems and communicate feasible solutions proficiently.

  • Extract patterns from large datasets and transform data into actionable insights.

  • Utilize tools such as Jupyter, SQL, dashboards, statistical analysis, and data visualizations to explore datasets and find answers to business questions.

  • Partner with internal product and business intelligence teams to identify optimal data ingestion, structure, and storage approaches.

  • Collaborate with technology field partners to ensure reliable implementation of data solutions.

  • Provide innovative ideas to improve data and collaborate with engineering, BI teams, and business units to implement changes.

  • Lead projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful implementation of data solutions.

  • Contribute to advancing the team in technology and best practices

  • Mentor junior team members on best practices and approaches around data.

Requirements

  • STEM undergraduate degree with 4+ years of work experience or STEM graduate degree with 2+ years of post-graduation work experience in Analytics/Measurement/Data Operations fields or consulting roles focusing on digital analytics implementations.

  • Knowledge with relational and NoSQL data management systems (e.g., BigTable, HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB).

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.

  • Experience with exploratory data analysis using tools like iPython Notebook, Pandas, and matplotlib.

  • Demonstrated development of ongoing technical solutions while maintaining documentation and training impacted teams.

  • Experience developing solutions to business requirements through hands-on discovery and exploration of data.

  • Robust written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and vice versa.

  • Experience building and deploying applications on a cloud platform (preferably Google Cloud Platform).

  • Ability to influence and apply data standards, policies, and procedures.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with marketing tools such as Kochava, Braze, Branch, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

  • Knowledge with Apache Airflow.

  • Knowledge of data modeling.

  • Knowledge with GIT.

  • Proficiency in statistical analyses using tools such as R, Numpy/SciPy with Python.

  • Experience with Adobe Analytics (Omniture) or Google Analytics.

  • Knowledge of digital marketing strategies including site, video, social media, SEM, SEO, and display advertising.

  • Knowledge with ELT/ETL concepts.

  • Knowledge of AI frameworks and prior implementation experience is a plus.

Benefits & conditions

Hiring Salary Range: $110,400.00 - 165,600.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.This position is bonus eligible.
