Job description
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the software team within the Endoluminal business unit and help drive AI developer enablement initiatives across the company. The successful candidate will design, build, and scale data pipelines and datasets that power APIs.
Essential Job Duties
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines (batch and/or streaming)
- Build and maintain curated datasets for downstream APIs and applications
- Define and enforce data quality, validation, and observability standards
- Implement data transformation, modeling, and schema design
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to onboard new data sources
- Apply data governance practices, including privacy, lineage, and access controls
- Optimize data storage and processing for performance and cost efficiency
- Document data models, pipelines, and datasets for discoverability and reuse
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
- Experience with data modeling (warehouse, lakehouse, or hybrid architectures)
- Familiarity with data formats and table technologies (Parquet, Iceberg, Delta, etc.)
- Strong experience with data engineering frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink)
- Experience with managed platforms such as Databricks
- Knowledge of data quality, lineage, and observability tools
- Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS or GCP)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
Required Education and Training
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in data engineering.

- Experience working with medical devices or other regulated industries.
- Experience with defining and implementing data privacy requirements.
