Job description
We are seeking an experienced Information Assurance Specialist to support secure enterprise and mission-critical environments within a high-security government program. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting cybersecurity compliance, vulnerability management, accreditation activities, and security control implementation across complex DoD environments., * Support Information Assurance and cybersecurity operations for classified systems and networks
- Maintain compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF requirements, and security controls
- Assist with Authority to Operate (ATO) packages, system accreditation, and security documentation
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts
- Review and implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- Monitor systems for security incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance issues
- Support auditing, logging, incident response, and continuous monitoring activities
- Work closely with system administrators, network engineers, ISSOs, and program teams
- Ensure systems remain compliant with customer and regulatory requirements
- Participate in security assessments, inspections, and cybersecurity reviews
- Maintain documentation including SSPs, POA&Ms, SARs, and related artifacts
- Support patch management and configuration management processes
Requirements
This role requires strong knowledge of Information Assurance (IA), Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIG compliance, and cybersecurity best practices in classified environments., * Minimum 2yr experience in network operations and information security.
- Demonstrated experience assessing security controls based on cybersecurity principles and tenets.(e.g., NIST SP 800-53, Cybersecurity Framework, etc.).
- In-depth understanding of relevance of NIST Security Controls and Control Implementation methodologies to the SA&SA process.
- Demonstrated experience with continuous monitoring/ongoing authorization.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Meet DoDM 8140.03 IAT III/IAM II requirements.
