A Staff Software Engineer at http://Realtor.com (http://Realtor.com|smart-link) is a technical leader focusing on ambiguous problems. You

understand the long-term business needs and impacts of technology decisions. You help the team make

the right trade-offs between short-term requirements and the squad's long-term business/operational

success. You provide the squad members with a system-wide view and design guidance and influence

the other teams' design decisions. You help the team make trade-offs and reuse where possible. You work

on project ideas with Product Management and engage with customers, stakeholders, and peers. Your

code submissions and approach to work are exemplary. You mentor by actively participating in the code

review process, design discussions, and team planning.

As a http://Realtor.com (http://Realtor.com|smart-link) 's Core Leads team member, you help facilitate individuals' home journeys by aligning

them with real estate partners, including Buyer's Agents. Your direct impact will drive the achievement of

critical OKRs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery for the squad's ambiguous/complex problem space.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years experience in software development

  • 3+ years of experience contributing to architecture and design

  • Proficiency in software development or a strong willingness to learn the http://Realtor.com (http://Realtor.com|smart-link) technology

stack, including Python (FastAPI, Pydantic, NumPy, Pandas) and React.

  • Experience with Node.js.

  • Extensive experience working with both relational and non-relational databases.

  • AWS knowledge preferred

  • Experience delivering high value to customers quickly and frequently, with regular feedback and

support

  • Experience with system design and trade-offs between design approaches

  • Strong software engineering best practices (e.g., testing, code reviews, documentation).
