looking for a Principal Full Stack Engineer to collaborate and deliver the top quality scalable systems solutions. You will serve as a Technical Lead working closely with the Tech Lead, Product Owners, and Architects to define and implement technical strategies and design solutions.

You will be responsible for designing and building high-quality solutions that align with the technology blueprint and standard development processes. This includes collaborating closely with architects to solve complex business challenges and contributing significantly to design strategies and development efforts to ensure quality outcomes. Leveraging your business knowledge, you will translate divisional initiatives into effective software solutions by developing sophisticated or multi-component applications and evaluating alternative approaches. Additionally, you will analyze and recommend improvements to development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies, providing valuable insights to both technical experts and management

The Purpose

The Principal Software Engineer in Fidelity Brokerage technology is responsible for design and development of highly available, scalable and distributed data platforms to process high volume, high velocity and wide variety of structured data.

The Principal Software Engineer will also be a technical lead for the team and have responsibility for solution design, solving key technical challenges and mentoring the team., Designing, building and supporting critical applications to provide the best customer experience Exploring new technology trends to simplify our data ecosystem Driving innovation and leading the team to implement solutions with future thinking Collaborating with our internal and external teams to deliver technology solutions for the business needs Guiding teams to improve development agility, code quality and automation Resolving technical roadblocks and mitigating potential risks Delivering system automation by setting up continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines Acting as a technical mentor to bring team members up to speed on the latest data technologies and promoting continuous learning

Are experienced with the tools of the trade including a variety of modern programming languages and frameworks Uses CI/CD practices, tools to rapidly deploy changes to customers while minimizing risk using practices like A/B tests, blue-green deployments, and feature toggles Stay on top of Algorithms, Data Structures and Design Patterns and love the challenge of building highly scalable systems that can support thousands of transactions/sec Have a mindset of test first development and are experienced in modern test frameworks Are data-driven and can measure, collect and use data to make decisions Have strong communication skills and technical expertise in driving and participating in discussions The Skills You Bring Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required 10+ years strong proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Kafka development environment; Use (CI/CD) Jenkins pipeline Experience leading a team Proficient in designing micro services by applying software design patterns, twelve-factor app methodology, and SOLID principles Experience container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes Experience with asynchronous workers and resilient messaging services such as Kafka, SNS and SQS Experience with Brokerage systems, especially Trade processing and Settlements. Proficient in databases and SQL Unit and integration test automation using Jest, Cucumber, Junit and Mockito Ability to build reliable software that can withstand unreliable environments Possess critical thinking skills to build end-to-end solutions Passionate and committed to learning new things and developing with the latest technologies and frameworks Strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at any given time Participate in engineering practices such as code and design reviews, environment strategy, and build and deployment pipelines Strong organization skills and attention to details
