Job description
- Help develop and implement new technologies based upon industry best practices.
- Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems at a high scope and complexity to include the integration of High-Performance Computing hardware, software, and operating systems (OS).
- Understanding software tools, automated scripts, batch schedulers, hardware, and system-level troubleshooting, to lead and support the engineering community.
- Perform OS tuning to maximize system performance on high performance computing systems. Work across DT functions to standardize processes and procedures.
- Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security compliance requirements.
- Provide documentation and training on advanced DT HPC processes and procedures. Be a mentor to junior team members.
- Must be able to obtain required Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification) within 6 months of hire date., Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility
Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree and less than 2 years of relevant experience or a total of 4 years relevant technical experience in IT or Digital Technology.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience in Windows and/or Linux Server Environments including directory services management, and system hardening., * High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.
- Experience in project leadership, management, or project management in a DT domain and basic to advance scripting experience.
- Experience maintaining a medium sized Microsoft Windows Server environment.
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Experience with High Performance Computing scheduling and monitoring tools.
- An active DoD Secret or Top-Secret Clearance.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Windows and Unix security hardening, systems integrations, advanced troubleshooting, and authentication service integration (LDAP).
- Unix (Including Linux and Solaris), experience in a medium to high complex environment(s).
- Working knowledge of High-Performance Computing scheduling and monitoring tools such as SLURM, Grid Engine and Ganglia.
Benefits & conditions
The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
