Job description
The Video Network Specialist II leads the installation, modification, and repair of video teleconference systems across the System.
Essential Duties:

Classroom and Conference Support - Leads the installation, modification, and repair of video teleconference systems. Operates and maintains video conference bridges. Oversees videoconference scheduling. Records, streams and archives video conferences. Verifies satellite downlinks and transmissions between conference sites.

Documentation - Maintains documentation on the AV google drive, Thycotic Secret Server information, Maintain IP information for all AV equipment.

Desktop Support - Performs video conferencing technical support and troubleshooting, and oversees the Help Desk. Trains student operators. Assists with developing operational and troubleshooting policies.

Professional Development - Participate in training and professional development sessions. Participate in 4+ applicable IT training and professional development activities yearly, as approved by IT Leadership.

Other Duties - Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience in video teleconferencing systems.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Technology related disciplines.
- Formal training with installed A/V systems
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in AV system design, higher education, or medical facility AV support.
- Experience with video and audio conferencing, project management, CODECs, Cisco TMS, AV camera operation and deployment.
- Site survey design, experience with CAT5/6 cabling terminations.
Preferred Licenses and Certifications:
- Certified Technology Specialist preferred.
- CTS, A+, Network +, ITIL Foundations, AMX, Crestron, Extron and other industry related certification(s).
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Knowledge of computer networking.
- Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Intermediate cross-disciplined A/V and IT skills with report writing skills, troubleshooting, client relations, ingenuity, formulating and contributing ideas, and knowledge of ITIL.
- Audio, Video skills and knowledge.
- Knowledge of products including, cameras, codecs, audio services including mics and speakers, commercial grade monitors, screen sharing applications, element and alert management tools.
- Understanding of remote access SSH, Command Line Linux.
- Ability to use and manage room scheduling software.
- Basic networking skills.
- Working with remote desktop systems and performing IT troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot A/V and IT problems methodically.
- Ability to work with internal and external troubleshooting support partners.
- Ability to work with room scheduling tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to ensure consistency of standards/procedures & promote efficiencies.
- An ability to always maintain a constructive outlook and working attitude.
- Ability to accurately record time and activities within a Service Desk system, working toward SLAs.
- Familiar with HIPAA, PHI, & FERPA, and demonstrated ability to deal with sensitive data.
Other Requirements and Factors
- Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment system or water treatment system
- This position is security sensitive
- This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures
- All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements

- This role may require working outside of standard office hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support the demands of technology services and ensure the seamless operation of essential systems.
