Job description

Aether Aerospace is seeking experienced Functional Area Analysts to support our Office of the Secretary of War (OSW) Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) customer within the Joint Data Support (JDS) organization. These positions support strategic analysis, future force planning, capability development, and senior leader decision-making efforts across the Department of War.

This position will require on-site/in-person support at the Mark Center Building in Alexandria, VA.

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Provide intelligence analysis and subject matter expertise focused on non-U.S. military capabilities, allied and partner nation forces, near-peer adversary threats, and operational environments.
  • Support strategic analysis activities through the collection, evaluation, verification, and maintenance of non-U.S. force, unit, equipment (FUE), infrastructure, and capability data.
  • Collaborate with Intelligence Community partners and Department of Defense stakeholders to ensure the accuracy, relevance, and timeliness of non-U.S. military and threat data.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance databases containing historical, current, and projected non-U.S. force structure, capability, and operational data.
  • Research and document data availability, classification considerations, source pedigree, and data quality constraints associated with intelligence and non-U.S. datasets.
  • Support allied and partner nation analysis efforts by developing and maintaining datasets used in strategic planning scenarios, studies, and capability assessments.
  • Develop and improve methodologies for collecting, organizing, validating, and automating non-U.S. force and intelligence data processes.
  • Create and tailor datasets for use in studies, simulations, modeling activities, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytic efforts.
  • Provide analytic support for technical studies, rapid assessments, strategic reviews, and future force planning activities involving non-U.S. military capabilities and threat analysis.
  • Produce briefings, reports, presentations, and analytic products supporting senior leader decision-making and Department-level study efforts.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with data providers, intelligence analysts, and subject matter experts to improve data accuracy and analytic outcomes.
  • Support ad hoc intelligence analysis, force posture analysis, and capability assessment efforts in response to emerging mission requirements and leadership taskings.

Requirements

  • Candidate must possess an Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI Eligibility
  • Candidate must possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of ten (10) yearsof experience in at least two (2) of the following areas:
  • Military or operations research-related field (e.g., U.S. current military operations, munitions, readiness, and deployment routines covering air/space, ground, special operations, and maritime domains).
  • The DoW Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) DOW process.
  • Intelligence collection and analysis related to Allies & Partner capabilities and requirements, as well as near-peer adversary capabilities, threat modeling, and operational environments
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience working with DoW stakeholders to collect, maintain, and refine complex datasets (e.g., force structure modeling, operation readiness, and global logistics data).
  • A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated ability leading DoW analytic and/or operations research teams focused on force structure planning, capability gap assessment, or force posture analysis as a Team Lead.
  • A minimum of 10 years, possessing adeptness in interfacing clients regarding data-driven policy decisions, requirements generation, and strategic planning, as well as demonstrated expertise in using Structured Query Language (SQL)to manage and query logistics and force inventories, personnel readiness databases, and intelligence reports.
