Job description
The IT Support Specialist provides comprehensive technical support to end-users across the organization. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, software, and peripherals in both networked and standalone environments. The specialist will diagnose hardware and software issues, offer timely resolutions, and contribute to IT audits, reporting, and process improvements., * Install and configure computers, peripherals, printers, and software products for networked and standalone environments.
- Detect, diagnose, research, and resolve computer software and hardware issues.
- Provide end-user support, including guidance, instruction, and training on hardware and software usage.
- Analyze and assess service requests; deliver prompt, effective technical solutions.
- Conduct IT audits in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Prepare and submit progress or status reports to team leads as required.
- Utilize ticketing software to open, update, and close service requests accurately and in a timely manner.
- Identify and document opportunities for process improvement.
- Communicate effectively with users via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Prepare and process IT equipment for reuse or surplus disposal actions.
- Provide remote technical support for users at satellite or offsite locations as required.
- Perform software and hardware upgrades and installations, including large-scale deployments involving multiple systems and devices.
- Coordinate the disassembly and installation of IT equipment during office moves, expansions, or new location setups.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by IT leadership.
- Demonstrate willingness to grow professionally and acquire new technical skills to support evolving business needs.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be physically capable of walking, squatting, bending, twisting, reaching, and crawling under desks.
- Ability to carry equipment, push/pull carts with IT hardware, and perform setup tasks in varied office environments.
- May require occasional travel to remote or satellite locations.
- Work may include prolonged periods at a computer workstation and intermittent fieldwork within facilities.
Requirements & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or technical certification in IT-related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of IT support experience in a professional environment.
- Proficient in Windows operating systems and common software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, remote desktop tools).
- Familiarity with computer hardware components, printers, and network devices.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Customer-service orientation with a positive, team-focused attitude.
Preferred:
- Network troubleshooting
- VoIP phone system support
- Experience using ticketing systems.
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications.
- Experience supporting users in multi-site work environments.
