Job description
Support DevOps and platform engineering delivery by designing building and operating reliable cloud infrastructure and automation under the direction of senior engineering leadership
- Design implement and operate secure and scalable cloud infrastructure to support application delivery and platform reliability
- Build and maintain container-based platforms and services including Kubernetes-based solutions following established architectural standards
- Develop and support cloud-native and event-driven components using managed cloud services where appropriate
- Implement Infrastructure as Code solutions contributing to shared modules patterns and documentation
- Build operate and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines to support consistent and repeatable delivery across environments
- Apply agreed branching release and deployment practices supporting engineering teams in adopting standard ways of working
- Support automation for testing security checks compliance validation and deployments
- Monitor systems and platforms analysing performance and reliability trends and escalating risks or issues when identified
- Participate in incident response and post-incident reviews contributing to root-cause analysis and follow-up actions
- Implement and operate observability capabilities including monitoring logging and alerting to support service reliability
- Provide day-to-day technical guidance and informal mentoring to engineers without formal people management responsibility
- Use AI-enabled tools and automation responsibly to streamline operational workflows and improve efficiency
About the Team
Our DevOps team within Data Estate builds and operates the cloud platforms tooling and automation that enable engineering teams to deliver software safely and efficiently We support scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure standardised delivery pipelines and strong security and governance practices The team works closely with engineering security and product stakeholders across regions to deliver measurable improvements in reliability and developer experience

Requirements
Do you have experience in Terraform?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Strong hands-on experience designing, building, and operating cloud-based DevOps and platform solutions, with exposure to Kubernetes-based environments and containerised workloads
- Solid experience with public cloud platforms including core services such as identity and access management, networking, storage, databases, and monitoring
- Good working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or equivalent including reusable modules, environment management, and CI/CD integration
- Experience implementing and operating automated deployment approaches including Git-based workflows and declarative delivery models
- Practical experience with CI/CD tooling and source control platforms such as GitHub including build pipelines, reusable workflows, and common branching and release practices
- General awareness of artificial intelligence concepts and practical experience using AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and operational efficiency with an understanding of responsible and ethical AI use
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with engineers security and product stakeholders and to support others through knowledge sharing and informal mentoring, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Relevant cloud DevOps or platform certifications such as AWS Kubernetes Terraform or equivalent are desirable but not required
