This is your chance to work at the forefront of cloud, automation, and continuous delivery practices, enabling high-performing teams to build, deploy, and operate scalable digital services across water, transportation, defence, and government sectors.
As a DevOps Engineer, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design resilient infrastructure, optimise CI/CD pipelines, and promote modern DevOps culture. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, gain exposure to complex enterprise environments, and grow your expertise in cloud platforms, infrastructure as code, and automation within a collaborative and people-focused organisation.
What you'll do :
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across development, test, and production environments.
- Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and automated software delivery.
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to improve workflows and deployment practices.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Support containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge and experience in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Expertise in CI/CD tools and automation frameworks like Jenkins, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Experience with microservices, containers, and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as ELK Stack or CloudWatch.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues in complex environments.
Benefits & conditions
This is a full time, permanent, hybrid (2-3 days/week) role based in Bristol, with occasional business travel across the UK. Full-time employment at Jacobs is based on a 40-hour working week. We place a strong emphasis on work-life balance and flexibility, and flexi-time is available.
