Job description

Our work focuses on enabling operational and enterprise-level capability across complex mission and organisational ecosystems. We help clients connect strategy to delivery, navigate technical complexity, and ensure the right decisions are made at the right time.

Alongside this, we advise on effective engagement with the supply chain and can act on the client's behalf in supplier interactions, ensuring solutions are technically robust, strategically aligned, and deliver genuine value., As a Consultant Systems Engineer, you'll operate at the system-of-systems and enterprise level, supporting clients to define, design and assure complex, interconnected capabilities. You will work across the full lifecycle, often in ambiguous or evolving problem spaces, helping clients make well informed decisions. You will:

  • Lead architectural development, conceptual exploration and options analysis across mission level or enterprise-level systems.
  • Apply systems thinking to understand interactions, dependencies and emergent behaviours across whole capabilities.
  • Guide clients through complex technical and organisational challenges, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Work embedded within multidisciplinary, multicompany consultancy teams.
  • Develop trusted relationships with clients and suppliers, support account growth, and help shape future opportunities.
  • Contribute thought leadership, mentor colleagues, and shape our systems engineering and consulting capability.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Systems engineering?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

  • 5+ years' delivery experience in complex defence, security, or highly regulated programmes.
  • Strong understanding of systems-of-systems concepts, enterprise-level thinking and systems engineering lifecycle processes.
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering knowledge and experience, including:
  • Definition and management of user and system requirement and use of tools (e.g. DOORS, Dimensions RM).
  • Development of behavioural and structural models to support enterprise and mission level analysis (e.g. Use Case modelling, Mission Engineering).
  • Applying architectural frameworks (e.g. NAF, TOGAF) and architecture tools (e.g. Sparx EA, BizzDesign, MooD, Cameo).
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to simplify complexity, facilitate workshops, and influence decision-makers.
  • Eligible for UK SC security clearance (existing SC preferred).

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification (MEng, MSc).
  • Professional membership (IET, INCOSE, BCS).
  • Experience working on client-side or advisory roles, such as supporting DE&S, Defence Digital, MOD Front Line Commands, or equivalent government organisations.
  • Consultancy experience, including client engagement, shaping work packages, and delivering advisory services.
  • Agile delivery experience (Scrum, SAFe).
  • Test Management experience (e.g. test-case development, acceptance planning)., * Do you currently hold, or are you eligible to hold UKSV SC clearance?
  • Do you have at least 5 years relevant experience in the UK Defence & Security sector?
