Job description
We are working with a globally recognised media and technology organisation to hire a Senior DevOps Engineer into their Belfast engineering team. This is a hands-on senior role sitting at the heart of a live re-platforming project, migrating a legacy application into AWS and modernising it for cloud-native best practices. You will work alongside an experienced senior engineer to drive this forward, with real ownership and influence over architecture decisions, not a ticket-by-ticket delivery role. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead infrastructure improvements, and help shape the DevOps practice across the organisation. If you want genuine end-to-end ownership of a production environment and the chance to leave a real technical mark on a meaningful project, this is a strong opportunity to do that. What you will be doing:
- Designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure on AWS
- Driving the migration of legacy systems into cloud-native architectures
- Developing and maintaining infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or comparable tooling
- Improving system reliability, observability, and cost-efficiency across environments
- Modernising CI/CD practices to enable safe, rapid delivery across multiple environments
- Supporting incident response and improving operational visibility through monitoring, logging, and tracing
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to engineering standards and design reviews
Requirements
- Deep, broad AWS experience across the full ecosystem, not siloed knowledge of individual services
- Strong Linux fundamentals, considered essential for this role
- Strong networking knowledge and an understanding of distributed architectures
- A track record of owning and running production environments end to end
- Experience with containerised workloads in production using Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes
- Proficiency in Terraform or a comparable infrastructure-as-code tool
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, Go, or similar
Useful but not essential:
- Experience with Ansible, Cloudflare, PostgreSQL, or MySQL in production
- Familiarity with observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, or ELK
- Exposure to multi-tenant SaaS architectures
- Experience leading or contributing to cloud migration projects

Who are we?
Muse Group began life as Ultimate Guitar, the largest online global community of musicians. Eugeny Naidenov founded Ultimate Guitar in 1998, with a dream to make it easy for guitarists to play songs by Guns ‘N’ Roses and his other favorite rockers. From there, the site grew from a plucky, tab-sharing trailblazer into a global leader of online music publishing.
In 2017, Ultimate Guitar acquired MuseScore, expanding its reach into sheet music. Muse Group has only continued to grow from there — and now includes Audacity, StaffPad and many more.
In 2023, Muse Group acquired Hal Leonard, the legendary global sheet music publishers, adding an unparalleled music catalog and educational expertise to the team.
Today, we are an international, visionary team of creatives, music lovers and audio obsessives, developing products we could not live without.
