Job description
- Define, develop, and demonstrate customer reference designs, demos, and example x86 platforms
- Provide technical support to customers deploying x86based systems
- Run industrystandard benchmarks and present results to customers, field engineering, and internal stakeholders
- Develop and execute tests to measure systemlevel performance, including bandwidth and latency, across multiple workloads
- Build, configure, and test systems using Linux
- Debug and resolve customer issues across industrystandard protocols and interfaces including PCIe, USB, SATA, and Ethernet
- Work handson with AMD tools to support hardware design, system bringup, and lowlevel software development
- Document best design practices, application notes, and technical guidance for both internal stakeholders and external customers
- Develop training and technical marketing materials for AMD field and customerfacing teams
- Act as a technical liaison between customers, field teams, and engineering to drive customer requirements back into Engineering
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing, FAEs, and sales teams across multiple geographies to deliver timely, customerready solutions, AMD may use Artificial Intelligence to help screen, assess or select applicants for this position. AMD's "Responsible AI Policy" is available here.
Requirements

Indepth systemlevel understanding of embedded and x86based processing systems

Strong expertise in x86 CPU architecture and system operation

Experience with:

Operating systems and hypervisors

Debuggers

System requirements and performance behavior
Solid understanding of hardware design, including schematics and hardware analysis
Board bringup experience, including handson hardwarelevel debugging
Experience with Linux, BIOS, UEFI, and bootloaders
Working knowledge of industrystandard interfaces and technologies:
- DDR4 / DDR5
- PCIe Gen3 / Gen4 / Gen5
- Ethernet (1G, 2.5G, 10G)
Fully selfsufficient in software development, including coding and debugging
Strong programming skills with Python, Perl, C/C++, and assembly
Proven ability to write application notes, white papers, and customerfacing technical documentation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with engineering, marketing, customers, FAEs, and sales teams
Ability to thrive in a fastpaced, highly collaborative, multigeography environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in technical marketing, systems engineering, or customerfacing engineering roles
- Experience supporting enterprise or embedded x86 platforms
- Background working directly with customers or field engineering organizations
- Familiarity with performance analysis, benchmarking methodologies, and system optimization
