Primary Responsibilities: Supporting our Lead Technician and Front Desk Leader
Technician Duties
- Assist with patient pre-testing and doctor ordered testing such as lensometry, autorefraction, retinal photography, OCT, visual field, intraocular pressure, visual acuity
- Support the doctor during clinic flow as needed
- Retrieving contact lens trials and teaching contact lens insertion and removal classes including soft, RGP, and scleral lenses
- Educate patients on contact lens options and assist with contact lens sales and annual supply ordering
Front Desk Duties:
- Greet and check in patients
- Answer phones and schedule appointments
- Verify patients' medical and vision insurance eligibility and benefits
- Educate patients on office policies, appointment expectations, insurance coverage, and products/services available
- Assist with patient intake
- Process payments and maintain accurate patient records
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office
- Maintain professionalism and strong patient communication throughout the visit
- Assist with additional office tasks as part of a collaborative team environment
Requirements

We are a small, team-oriented office looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is comfortable multitasking, and is interested in learning all aspects of a private practice optometry office. Attention to detail and reliability are extremely important for success in this role., * Strong communication and customer service skills

- Strong reliability and punctuality
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software; experience with Weave and Revolution EHR is a plus
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Previous medical, optometry, or dental experience preferred but not required
- Willingness to be cross-trained in clinical and optical duties
