Job description

  • Design, develop, and maintain relational database systems.
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
  • Develop and optimize database objects for performance and scalability.
  • Perform database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Create and maintain ETL processes for data migration and integration.
  • Collaborate with application developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements.
  • Ensure database security, backup, recovery, and data integrity.
  • Monitor database health and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Support reporting and analytics requirements by creating efficient data structures.
  • Document database architecture, standards, and processes.
  • Participate in code reviews and database deployment activities.

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in SQL and relational databases such as:

  • Oracle

  • SQL Server

  • MySQL

  • PostgreSQL

  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.

  • Knowledge of data modeling and database design principles.

  • Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes.

  • Familiarity with SSIS, SSRS, SSMS, or equivalent tools.

  • Understanding of database backup, recovery, and security practices.

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Certifications in database technologies are a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Python or Shell scripting knowledge.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra.
  • Exposure to data warehousing concepts and BI tools.
