Job description
As a Senior Platforms Engineer on the Enterprise Platforms Engineering team, you will be a senior level software engineer focused on building and evolving high-impact platform solutions with a strong emphasis on developer experience and hands-on software development. You will design and implement systems that empower engineers to move quickly and safely, reducing friction across the software development lifecycle.
This role requires deep technical expertise and a proven background writing production-grade code in fast-paced development environments. You will work extensively across backend services, serverless and microservice architectures, and internal developer tooling, owning complex technical problems end-to-end. Your contributions will directly improve developer productivity, system performance, and the overall reliability of the platform.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and deliver high-quality, production-level applications across backend services, automation systems, and platform tooling, contributing as a hands-on software engineer in a highly technical, fast-paced development environment
- Design and build platform solutions that significantly improve developer experience and engineering efficiency
- Develop and enhance CI/CD systems to enable fast, reliable, and scalable software delivery
- Build backend automation tools and internal developer platforms that reduce operational overhead
- Design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP
- Contribute to full-stack application development as needed
- Integrate with third-party SaaS platforms via APIs
- Own and deliver complex technical projects from design through production
Requirements
- Prior senior-level software engineering experience in fast-paced, high-performing development environments
- Strong track record of delivering complex technical projects independently
- Strong Python development experience building scalable backend systems and services
- Deep backend development experience with serverless and microservice architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, ECS, EKS)
- Hands-on experience developing with MongoDB, Redis, and DynamoDB
- Experience with application performance tuning and optimizing system efficiency
- Experience implementing application logging and observability best practices
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools and modern coding workflows
- Deep hands-on expertise with AWS and GCP cloud platforms
- Proficiency in modern frontend development frameworks such as Next.js or React
- Strong understanding of secure cloud architecture and modern development best practices
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
- Regular, on-site attendance at the workplace a minimum of 3 days per week is an essential function of the position. Selected candidate must be able to reliably meet this requirement.
NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
- Experience developing AI agents or working with AI-driven systems
- Experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipeline automation
- Infrastructure as Code experience (e.g., Terraform)
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Familiarity with SRE practices, including monitoring and observability systems
- Experience working within Agile development environments, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and participating in iterative delivery cycles (e.g., sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)

Benefits & conditions
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $143,000.00-170,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
