Job description

The Senior Systems Administrator will serve as the primary infrastructure resource supporting the IT Director in the development, maintenance, management, and administration of Laramie Energy's IT infrastructure across multiple sites. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy and is expected to take ownership of infrastructure initiatives, proactively identify and resolve complex technical challenges, and serve as the senior escalation point for Tier III support. On occasion, supplemental support to the IT service desk may also be provided to maintain service continuity across the organization., * Assist the IT Director in the planning, deployment, administration, and ongoing optimization of the organization's IT infrastructure across multiple sites

  • Assist with the development, management, and administration of the Active Directory and Entra ID hybrid domain infrastructure
  • Assist with the development and administration of the network infrastructure, including switching, wireless, and secure remote access
  • Assist with the scheduling, management, and implementation of system upgrades and technology refresh initiatives
  • Assist with the development, management, implementation, and enforcement of information security and cybersecurity strategies and policies
  • Assist with the administration and monitoring of endpoint management and security platforms
  • Assist with the administration of the backup and data protection infrastructure
  • Assist with the support of operational technology and SCADA systems in coordination with relevant stakeholders
  • Plan and implement scheduled operating system upgrades and security patching across the server infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain automation and scripting solutions to improve operational efficiency across the IT infrastructure
  • Create and maintain infrastructure diagrams, process, and procedural documentation
  • Manage IT asset tracking and lifecycle management
  • Identify, analyze, resolve, and document Tier III hardware and software issues within the IT Management System, ensuring timely resolution within established service level timelines
  • Provision and configure end user workstations and devices, ensuring consistent deployment standards and security baselines are maintained across the organization
  • Participate in after-hours on-call support and infrastructure maintenance duties as required
  • On occasion, provide supplemental support to the IT service desk to maintain service continuity across the organization, Additional duties and responsibilities may be expanded upon to support business needs., · Various work environments: Work sites vary in noise levels and temperatures ranging from controlled office environments to outdoor and industrial settings

· Travel: Mild to moderate travel of less than 15% annually may be required to support field offices and operational sites across Colorado

o Off-highway travel may be required to reach certain field locations accessible only via unpaved roads or at higher elevations

· Site Safety: Safety training may be required prior to entry into certain facilities, and strict adherence to safety protocols must be observed while onsite

Requirements

  • Enterprise backup and data protection solution administration
  • Experience supporting SCADA and Distributed Control Systems in an operational technology environment
  • A clear understanding of the differences between Information Technology and Operational Technology infrastructures and how they are supported

EDUCATION (and/or) EXPERIENCE

· A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience, combined with 7+ years of progressive experience in Systems Administration or an equivalent role, preferably within the energy industry

LANGUAGE AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively communicate information to management, end-users, and vendors

CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING (accepted in lieu of experience)

· CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent)

· CompTIA CySA+

· CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA

· CompTIA Server+ (or equivalent)

· Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP-MCI) or equivalent

· Microsoft role-based certification in Windows Server or hybrid infrastructure

· Fortinet NSE certifications
