Job description
- Provide technical support to the Network and System Administrators and strive to automate system administration.
- Implement and maintain Router, Switching, and misc. network related DISA STIGs.
- Gather needed data to specify system/component performance and interface requirements.
- Configure, manage and maintain Type 1 encryption devices.
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support, troubleshooting complex network issues, and serve as a key member of the network administration team.
- Must have a strong understanding of Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies and trusted products, with the ability to evaluate, integrate, and support their use in network environments.
- Have recent experience in designing secure high assurance/high availability networks, preferably using Junos routing and appliances.
- Configure virtual networks.
- Maintain standard operating procedures.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
- Create documentation of all work performed to capture configuration and installation procedures.
- Responsible for configuring, managing, and maintaining a VoIP solution utilizing Cisco Call Manager.
- Support security staff in compliance and vulnerability audits of network systems, implementing security remediation, and during accreditation events.
- Work with users to identify the needed network design changes required to support changing processes or requirements.
- The ability to support travel up to 10% of the year.
Requirements
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance, * A strong understanding and knowledge of computer, network, and security systems.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well independently under limited oversight, be self-directed and able to prioritize work.
- Must be able to attain and maintain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or CISSP preferred).
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Juniper SRX, EX series routers and switches.
- Experience deploying security solutions for DoD networks.
- Experience with multi-platforms like Windows, UNIX, LINUX
- Understanding of network engineering fundamentals, including: OSI layers, IP addressing, sub-netting, TCP/IP stack, VLANs, DHCP, etc.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and applications as required.

- And more!, The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
