Job description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented AEGIS Based Defense Senior Systems Engineer to join our team! In this role you will be part of a talented and mission oriented professional team of federal engineers, active-duty Naval Officers and Contract staff who are willing to roll up their sleeves and get missile defense capability out to the Fleet. You will also be part of a team of some of the best and brightest Engineers and scientists our country has to offer.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Participate actively in Integration Exchanges to resolve design and interface challenges for interdependent capabilities.
  • Provide technical expertise for the development and upgrading of interceptors, radar systems, and launcher systems.
  • Support the integration of various components into a cohesive and effective system-of-systems.
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate program risks in collaboration with the program office and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of an integrated master schedule.
  • Support all phases of testing, from planning and preparation to execution and analysis.
  • Serve as the onsite Expert for the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (ABMD) Program Office, supporting key engineering and readiness personnel and all ABMD Baseline Managers.
  • Provide expertise across a wide range of crucial disciplines, including BMD Software Development, Baseline Certification, Training, Risk Management, Safety, Security, Reliability, Cyber/Information Assurance, and Program Protection.
  • Perform deep analysis to document, justify, and develop traceable requirements for both Aegis Sea-Based and Aegis Shore Facility Weapon Systems.
  • Holds significant authority to implement assessment processes and formally approve key configuration-managed documents such as the Requirements Management Plan and Systems Engineering Plan.
  • Resolves technical uncertainties by tracking and managing Test Observation Reports (TORs), Proposed Revisions (PRs), Software Change Reports (SWCRs), and system deviations through the RDW and BDR processes.
  • Participates in the Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) to ensure robust problem resolution.
  • Maintains program integrity by leveraging digital tools like DOORS and Confluence and is responsible for producing and reviewing a variety of technical documents, briefs, and executive summaries.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship with Active Secret Clearance
  • Master's Degree in STEM field
  • 12+ years of experience
  • Mastery of MS Office suite and familiarity with collaborative tools such as Jira, Confluence or Teams
  • Aegis Weapon System Experience

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Prior experience with Aegis Weapons Systems Baselines
  • Experience with Missile Systems Engineering
  • Technical experience in one of the following areas: Fleet operations, systems engineering, missile systems, Aegis Qualifications, etc.

Salary Range: $134,100.00 - $241,400.00
