The Team:
The Fixed Income value stream focuses on providing reliable, scalable and auditable calculation engines and services that are essential for managing our fixed income series of indices. As technology is being reshaped to align with emerging standards, our team operates with a product-first mindset, follows product development lifecycle patterns, and truly adheres to Agile framework principles.
Responsibilities and Impact:
- Design and develop high-performance calculation engines and services for fixed income indices processing large-scale financial data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable solutions that support critical business operations and client needs
- Drive technical excellence by participating in code reviews, architecture discussions, and contributing to best practices for system reliability
- Work within Agile development cycles to deliver features that enhance our fixed income technology platform and align with emerging industry standards
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to the technical growth of the team through knowledge sharing and pair programming
- Lead initiatives to modernize existing systems and implement new technologies that improve performance and maintainability
- Architect and oversee high-performance calculation engines and services for index production and large-scale analytics, balancing latency, throughput, cost, and correctness.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers and quant-minded developers; set clear expectations on technical quality and quantitative rigor.
- Must be able to implement end-to-end data lineage, reconciliation, anomaly detection, reproducibility, auditability, and versioning across analytics models, inputs, and outputs.
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $200,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
- 10+ years of software development experience with programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or Scala
- Strong experience with distributed systems, distributed caches and microservices architecture patterns and frameworks like SpringBoot, JPA.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Must have extensive experience with both SQL and NoSQL database technologies, including hands-on expertise in platforms such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra
- Demonstrated expertise in fixed income system design and instrument analytics.
- Solid understanding of Agile development methodologies and product development lifecycle
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in financial services domain, particularly with fixed income securities, indices, or calculation engines
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
- Familiarity with performance optimization and high-frequency data processing systems
