Job description
We're a NYC-based lab-grown diamond and fine jewelry brand with a strong social-first presence (125K Instagram, 211K TikTok) and an in-house design studio of master bench jewelers. We craft engagement rings and fine jewelry direct-to-consumer, and we move fast. We're hiring our first dedicated builder.
The Role
You will be the person who turns ideas into shipped product. That means our website, our internal tools, our AI-powered workflows, and the automations that let a small team punch above its weight. You'll work directly with the founder and ship something every week.
This is not a role for someone who wants to write specs and hand them off. You write the code, you talk to the bench jewelers and the marketing team to figure out what's actually needed, and you ship it. You use Claude Code and Gemini image generation the way other engineers use Stack Overflow as a constant part of how you work, not a novelty.
What You'll Actually Build
- The store itself. Improvements to product pages, ring builder flows, checkout, search, filtering, and mobile experience on our e-commerce platform (Shopify or similar).
- AI-powered product imagery. Pipelines using Gemini image generation (and other models) to produce on-model shots, lifestyle imagery, and variant photos at scale, replacing or augmenting traditional product photography.
- AI workflows for content. TikTok and Instagram are our biggest channels - tools that help the social team move faster on captions, scripts, post variants, and trend response.
- Internal tools. Order management, inventory views, CRM additions, lead research, customer service assists - whatever the team is doing manually that a tool could do better.
- AI search visibility (GEO/AEO). Work on structured data, content, and technical SEO so Stienhardt shows up in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Gemini answers not just traditional Google search.
- Integrations. Connecting Shopify, Klaviyo, our CRM, social platforms, and whatever else the business runs on.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Web applications?, * 3+ years shipping production web applications end-to-end. You can build a feature from database to UI without help.
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript. Comfortable with React and Node, or equivalent modern stack.
- Daily, fluent use of Claude Code (or Cursor / similar AI coding tools) - not "I've tried it," but "this is how I work."
- Hands-on experience with image generation models (Gemini, Imagen, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Nano Banana, etc.) - prompting, evaluation, and integrating them into real workflows.
- Experience working on e-commerce, ideally Shopify (Liquid, theme dev, Hydrogen, or the Storefront/Admin APIs). DTC experience strongly preferred.
- LLM API experience - Anthropic, OpenAI, Google. You've built something real with function calling, structured outputs, or RAG.
- Comfortable with Python for scripting and AI workflows.
- A portfolio or GitHub showing things you've actually shipped. We care more about what you've built than where you've worked.
Nice to have:
- Background in DTC jewelry, fashion, or another visual/luxury vertical.
- Experience with SEO and schema markup for e-commerce.
- Familiarity with Klaviyo, Postscript, or other DTC marketing tools.
- Comfort with basic design - Figma reading, instinct for what looks good.
- Video/image editing chops (you've made TikToks, you understand the format).
We don't care about:
- Computer science degrees.
- Kubernetes, Terraform, or any heavy infra stack we don't run it and won't.
- Whether you can pass a leetcode interview.
Benefits & conditions
- Portfolio walkthrough - show us 2-3 things you've built and walk us through the decisions.
- Paid trial project - a small, real problem from our backlog, 1-2 days, paid at your rate. We both find out if it works.
- Offer
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
