Job description
This role follows a Firehouse schedule and requires full onsite presence due to the nature of the shift model. The front-end contractor shift includes Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday , with an alternating Wednesday every two weeks . Shifts are 12 hours per day , including a 1-hour lunch . Rotating 12-hour schedules are commonly used to maintain around-the-clock operational coverage.
What This Role Is Not
This is not a basic help desk or call center role. It is not a ticket-pushing or pass-through position, and it is not limited to reactive support. Production support and operations roles at this level typically act as the first line of defense for live systems, with direct responsibility for monitoring, triage, troubleshooting, and service restoration.
What's the Job?
- Participate in or support low complexity initiatives within Systems Operations Engineering.
- Review basic or tactical issues, policies, or procedures related to low-risk tasks with narrower impact.
- Monitor application and infrastructure dashboards to identify events, alerts, and performance issues proactively.
- Perform incident triage, troubleshooting, and resolution using established runbooks and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution and documentation of incidents.
Requirements
- 6+ months of Technology Engineering experience, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with Linux environments, log review, and system telemetry analysis.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring tools such as AppDynamics and Splunk.
- Knowledge of batch scheduling and workload automation tools like Autosys.
- Familiarity with Oracle databases, SQL, and ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
