Job description
We're looking for an experienced SAP Basis Senior Consultant to join our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our SAP system landscape, ensuring maximum uptime and performance. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in system administration, security, and infrastructure management. The ideal candidate will bring a detail-oriented approach, analytical mindset, and a commitment to operational excellence., SAP Basis Administration & Operations
- Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems including SAP HANA and AnyDB platforms
- Perform system configurations, integrations, and landscape management
- Manage SAP transport processes and change control procedures
- Support upgrades, patches, and SAP Notes implementation
- Administer and optimize both Linux and Windows environments
- Handle backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures
- Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Performance
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system errors and incidents
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Execute performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning
- Support monitoring and operations via SAP Solution Manager
- SAP Security & Compliance
- Conduct SAP Basis security tests and implementations
- Review, coordinate, and deploy SAP Security Notes and Hot News
- Ensure adherence to security protocols, compliance standards, and patch management
- Documentation & Support
- Maintain and update technical documentation (in German)
- Provide support during peak demand periods and backup coverage (U-Vertretung)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile/DevOps environments
Requirements
- Minimum 8+ years of hands-on SAP Basis administration experience
- Proven expertise in SAP installation, configuration, and system maintenance
- Strong database knowledge (Oracle, SQL Server, or equivalent)
- Experience with SAP HANA and modern SAP landscapes
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows system administration
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Performance tuning and optimization
- Troubleshooting complex SAP issues
- Transport management and change control
- Backup and disaster recovery
- Solid understanding of:
- SAP security concepts and compliance requirements
- Patch and upgrade processes
- Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Fluency in German and English is a must
